RSM's payroll team sits within the HR and payroll division of People Advisory Services, delivering cutting-edge and premium payroll software and solutions to an exceptional range of clients. These span from small entrepreneurial enterprises to large corporations, inclusive of top-name brands across industries such as retail, manufacturing, financial services and the public sector.
As a Business Development Manager based from one of our national offices, you will play a critical role in driving new client acquisition and revenue growth. This is a high-impact, client-facing role focused on identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with prospects, and delivering tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of our target market.
You will take full ownership of the sales cycle, from lead generation through to contract negotiation and close, working closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition into onboarding and ongoing service delivery. Through a consultative and commercially driven approach, you will contribute directly to the firm's growth ambitions and help expand our market presence across payroll outsourcing, HR software, and advisory service.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Taking full ownership of driving new client acquisition within the target market, delivering against defined sales targets and KPIs.
- Proactively identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities through effective prospecting, networking, and lead generation strategies.
- Managing the end-to-end sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and close, ensuring a consultative and solutions-focused approach.
- Developing and executing tailored sales plans to penetrate key markets and industries, aligned to the firm’s growth strategy.
- Conducting thorough market research to identify emerging opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Representing the business at industry events, networking opportunities, and conferences to raise brand awareness and build strategic relationships.
- Identifying and introducing opportunities for cross-selling additional services such as HR software, HR advisory solutions, and payroll add-ons.
- Championing a high-performance, commercially driven sales culture within the team and wider business.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, both internally and externally.
- Relevant professional qualifications in sales or business development are advantageous.
