As the AskHR Manager, you’ll be leading and continuously developing a team of AskHR advisors responsible for supporting our colleagues with their HR queries, and delivering against a suite of service KPIs. Along with your in-depth People Policy and Employment Law knowledge, you’ll work closely with your stakeholders to develop material and train the AskHR team so they are competent to handle all queries right first time, increasing efficiency and colleague experience. You’ll analyse contact types and volumes to identify trends, and see through to implementation the changes needed.
On this 12 month fixed term contract you’ll work as part of our People Services Team, which is responsible for supporting our people, ensuring we create a culture and environment to enable the Society’s objectives of building a stronger, kinder and greener society, Nationwide. For this job you’ll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you’ll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. What you’ll be doing
You’ll need to have significant knowledge and experience of HR Policies, developing and delivering training material and management of a frontline team in a fast-paced environment to achieve against a suite of KPIs. Your strong background in HR will enable you to support the team with complex queries, preventing hand offs and identifying improvements, where you will influence your key stakeholders to drive forward change, generating efficiency across People Services.
You’ll manage resource and priorities to meet fluctuating demand (both planned and unplanned) to make sure that SLAs are met and employee experience scores remain high. As we look ahead and integrate with Virgin Money your role will be to ensure a smooth transition equipping the team with the necessary knowledge and competence to maintain the high levels of colleague experience.
About you
As a minimum requirement you’ll:
- Significant background in HR with an in-depth understanding and application of HR people policies and Employment Law
- Proven ability to lead a frontline team, to deliver against KPIs and coaching and supporting through effective performance management of a large team of HR advisors
- Demonstrable experience of data analysis, identification, and implementation of service improvements to drive efficiency and enhance employee experience
- Excellent influencing, communication and negotiating skills with demonstrable experience of building strong and influential stakeholder relationships
- Experience of development and delivery of training and skills materials to uplift and maintain HR knowledge
