Wernick Power, one of the more recent additions to the Wernick Group, is a national provider of temporary power generation solutions. Established in 1934, the Wernick Group remains a family-run and owned company, witnessing a significant increase in profits over the past five years. We are seeking a Depot Generator Engineer to uphold the operational functionality and presentation of Wernick Power Solutions (WPS) equipment, including generators, diesel tanks, distribution systems, cabling, and associated ancillaries. You will conduct inspections, testing, servicing, and repairs on all depot equipment ensuring it is ready for hire. There may be an occasional customer breakdown to attend to, so a full driving licence is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards.
  • Achieve optimum, yet safe productivity levels with designated workload.
  • Provide Safety Observations for any unsafe practice in the depot.
  • Ensure overdue servicing is kept below 6% of total fleet in the depot.
  • Have all training and competencies updated via the PDP skills matrix.
  • Provide support outside normal job role as and when required for the Depot and Service Manager.
  • Seek time to self-develop (relevant to role) via training platforms, online learning hubs and structured training sessions.
  • Provide support for colleagues as and when required and/or when you deem necessary.
  • Ensure depot and engineering standards.

Essential Criteria:

  • Skills and experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines relevant to the scope of equipment involved in the role.
  • Adequate skills for performing competent maintenance routines.
  • In-depth skills for competent fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing of the defined equipment type.
  • Experience in working with generator engines is essential; applications without this experience will not be considered.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Hold a C and G, NVQ, or other recognised professional or vocational qualifications in the relevant technical discipline.
  • In-depth experience in multiple technical disciplines, such as mechanical and electrical.
  • Hands-on experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel-driven generators.
