The Discipline of Computing and Mathematics has a strong academic reputation in undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and knowledge transfer, delivering programmes including Computer Games, Computer Games Modelling and Animation, Computer Science, and Information Technology.
This role involves supporting the expansion of our Computer Games Programming or Computer Games Design areas. The successful candidate will have interests in Unity or Unreal, C#, 2D and 3D design tools, sound design tools, immersive technologies, and gameplay.
As a Lecturer, you will deliver a high-quality student-focused experience and contribute to the furtherance of knowledge in your discipline. As a Senior Lecturer, you will evidence the impact of your contributions in teaching and research/enterprise.
You will engage in teaching, education, research, enterprise, and administrative duties aligned with the School strategy and goals.
We are looking for a dedicated professional with a PhD in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience, ideally with published game titles. Candidates should demonstrate potential to secure external funding or lead enterprise activities and have a growing profile within academia or the games industry.
A strong commitment to enhancing the student experience and exceptional communication skills are essential. A commitment to continuous academic and professional development and experience collaborating with networks will be key to success in this role.
