As Head of Psychology you will oversee the Psychology Department across both Delfryn Lodge and Delfryn House (including the step down service Rhyd Alyn).
- Cygnet Delfryn Lodge: Set amid the rolling hills of Flintshire, Cygnet Delfryn Lodge is a 24 bed service specialising in high dependency inpatient rehabilitation for women who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may be detained under the Mental Health Act. Delfryn Lodge is designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes effective rehabilitation and recovery.
- Cygnet Delfryn House: Cygnet Delfryn House is our high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act.
- Rhyd Alyn: A six bed community rehabilitation service for women who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway at inpatient rehabilitation services.
Your Day-to-Day...
The post-holder will have a key role in providing:
- Specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy.
- Collaboratively develop risk assessments and care plans with the MDT.
- Work as part of a dedicated clinical team providing a multi-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation in a therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery.
- Offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.
- Contribute to the Midlands Female Services Psychology Meetings and CPD events.
- Train and clinically supervise Assistant Psychologists and the APDP programme provided by Cygnet.
We are looking for someone who is:
- A HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist with experience in a clinical forensic or mental health setting.
- Minimum 3 years qualified experience.
- Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experienced in the delivery of trauma informed care.
- Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs.
- Capable of working with difficulties such as physical & verbal aggression, history of offending, drug and alcohol problems and self-harm.
