The Best Connection Group Ltd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and industry-leading client based in the Milton Keynes area. We are looking for HGV Class 2 Drivers to complement their operation working 40 hours per week, covering Monday - Friday, with a start time of 06:00. You will be delivering palletised air conditioning units to customers and clients throughout the UK. This role involves making between 1 to 8 drops per day, using a tail lift and pump truck. Deliveries are completed as a single-person operation, requiring candidates to be physically capable and self-reliant.
Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate
Pay Rates & Shifts:
- Standard pay rate is £15.00 raising to £20.46 after 8 hours
- Shift start is 6am
- Monday to Friday shifts which means no weekend work
- Average shifts are between 10-12 hours per day
Qualifications:
- A full UK driving licence with category C entitlement
- A valid Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC)
- Be in possession of a valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than 6 current penalty points
- No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
Responsibilities of a Delivery Driver:
- Check the vehicle regularly and report any issues
- Drive safely and follow all traffic laws
- Use GPS or maps to find the best routes
- Load and unload items carefully to avoid damage
- Deliver goods on time, in full and to the correct address
- Communicate politely with customers
- Keep records of deliveries, mileage, and issues
- Report delays, accidents, or problems to your manager
