About The Role
Manage, create and develop sales activities within your region (West Midlands and North West) and with national key account clients to achieve annual sales targets and margins. Maintain an awareness of current market trends and funding systems to assist in formulating an overall sales strategy. Build relationships with current and potential clients to maximise our inclusion in frameworks and preferred supplier status, enhancing repeat business potential.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure sales targets are met at agreed margins.
- Seek out new sales opportunities and follow up on received leads.
- Evaluate inquiries and determine the best system/solution to offer.
- Maintain and update records of clients and prospective clients.
- Collaborate with the Sales Director on advertising and promotional activities in your area/sector.
- Provide monthly updates and reports to the Sales Director.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations.
- Support the Estimating Department in the preparation and submission of quotations.
- Assist in processing variation inquiries in conjunction with the Senior Contracts Manager (if required).
- Conduct site visits and report findings.
- Advise the Estimating Department on any adverse terms/conditions in tenders.
- Review orders against our tenders/offers before acknowledgment.
- Adhere to the procedures outlined in the Company's Quality Procedures Manual.
- Ensure the security of Company information.
- Maintain good working relationships between the department and clients/other departments within the Group.
- Stay updated with changes in Building Regulations, legislation, competitors, and other relevant developments.
Reporting Lines
The Business Development Manager reports to the Sales Director. In the absence of the Sales Director, the Business Development Manager will report to the Commercial Director.
General
The Business Development Manager will have regular contact with clients and must represent the Company efficiently, handling clients with courtesy. All Wernick designs, estimates, pricing schedules, and sub-contractor prices are strictly confidential and must not be shared outside the company unless necessary for Wernick's benefit. Unauthorised release of confidential information will be considered a breach of the Contract of Employment. This role requires regular travel across the West Midlands and Northwest, with occasional national travel for key accounts.
