A Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities within cybersecurity. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity solutions, industry trends, and the ability to develop relationships with clients who need protection against cyber threats. The BDM will work closely with technical teams to tailor solutions that address client security challenges and drive revenue growth.

Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week. You must be able to commute to the office in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Focus on hunting new net logo business opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with clients to understand their cybersecurity requirements.
  • Cybersecurity Market Research & Strategy: Analyse competitor cybersecurity solutions and identify unique value propositions for differentiation.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth: Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals that align with client needs and company goals.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Work closely with cybersecurity engineers and technical teams to ensure accurate solutions and proposal development.
  • Collaboration & Technical Alignment: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and deal progress in CRM systems.
  • Training & Development: Continue to develop technical knowledge, be aware of industry trends and build personal skills relating to role.

Requirements:

  • Business development: Perform outreach through calls, LinkedIn and email to generate new sales opportunities and pipeline.
  • Understanding and communicating the value proposition to help the customer understand how it will improve their business's cyber security posture.
  • Generating leads and working customers through a consultative customer engagement sales model.
  • Earning trust and developing relationships with senior executives by displaying knowledge, professionalism and relevance to business issues.
  • Maintaining a close relationship with in-house technical support team and supporting new business opportunities.
  • Working closely with Marketing and Sales by following up on a variety of sales campaigns.
  • Consistently achieving KPIs.
