We are seeking an experienced Signal Integrity / Power Integrity Engineer for a long-term contract role supporting advanced hardware development projects within a high-reliability environment. This role is fully remote but restricted to UK nationals due to the nature of the work and data security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis across high-speed digital designs.
  • Model and simulate high-speed interconnects, PCB stack-ups, power delivery networks (PDNs), and associated parasitics.
  • Provide design recommendations to ensure signal quality, noise margin, and power stability are within specification.
  • Work closely with PCB layout teams, hardware designers, and systems engineers to optimize designs from concept to production.
  • Validate simulation models with lab measurements and assist in root cause analysis of SI/PI-related issues.
  • Document analysis results, methodologies, and recommendations for both internal teams and customer reporting.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in SI/PI engineering within high-speed digital system environments.
  • Strong proficiency with industry-standard simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave, Keysight ADS, Cadence Sigrity, or Mentor HyperLynx.
  • In-depth understanding of PCB design and manufacturing constraints affecting signal and power integrity.
  • Solid knowledge of transmission line theory, impedance matching, crosstalk, jitter, PDN resonance, and decoupling strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation-to-lab correlation using oscilloscopes, VNAs, TDRs, and probes.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborating virtually with multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working in sectors such as aerospace, defence, telecommunications, or high-performance computing.
  • Familiarity with DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, or SerDes interfaces at multi-Gbps rates.

Additional Information:

  • This is a UK-based remote role; applicants must be UK nationals to be considered.
  • Engagement is expected to last between 6 and 12 months, with potential for extension based on project scope.
