About This Opportunity And L3Harris UK: From 11 UK sites, our team of nearly 1,000 people delivers unique capabilities across space, air, land, sea and cyber for military, security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide. L3Harris in Bristol is our headquarters for our Maritime UK businesses which provides warship automation systems through control and simulation solutions that are in service on Albion Class Landing Platform Docks and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers. More systems are being developed and delivered for Type 26 and Type 31 frigates. We have additional Maritime UK sites across Burgess Hill, Barrow-In-Furness and Portchester. Together, we are powering the Royal Navy’s adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers.
We are seeking to fill a position supporting our customer in the manufacture and installation of Control consoles for the latest submarines project, which are currently in assembly in the BAE submarine build facility in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The position would be primarily focused on supporting supplier installers and customer Test & Commissioning teams to install, integrate and commission the L3Harris designed and built consoles into the submarine platforms. In addition, the role would involve occasional scheduled onsite support to our suppliers based in Newport and Portsmouth where the consoles are being manufactured.
The role would require clear understanding and knowledge of general arrangement CAD drawings and wiring schematics as well as experience and knowledge in electrical installation with regards to compliance with regulations for military platforms, in order to help ensure the consoles are installed correctly.

What You’ll Bring: The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Proven experience in military electrical installations.
- Capable of writing and reviewing electrical test procedures.
- Ownership of Inspection and Test Plans with a focus on driving product delivery in alignment with quality requirements.
- Capability to communicate effectively with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Excellent time management and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritise workload to meet project requirements.
- Willingness to undertake specific customer-required training and accreditations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Preference IPC 620 certified.
- BS 7671 AMD 2 (2022) Qualification, City & Guilds 2382-22 or EAL.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Test and Inspection Qualification.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Understanding of DefStan’s 08-160 & 59-411
