We are recruiting a Modernisation Technician to join the Modernisation Team. This role reports to the Project Manager (Mods) and will cover the United Kingdom and Ireland. Within the Modernisation team, we work alongside the Branches to help deliver all the large modernisation projects. Our Projects can range from installing new gantry and cranes to carrying out a complete overhaul consisting of new panels, new electricals, new trolley unit, Inverter upgrades, waste crane festoon replacement, and hoist general overhauls, to WTE upgrades, mechanical upgrades and so on.

We are looking for a technician to join our team to help deliver our projects. We cover the whole UK & Ireland and all the offshore islands. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and participate in exciting projects. Flexible UK location.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering large modernisation works across the UK.
  • Working away for extended periods.
  • Liaising with the project manager/engineer/site supervisor and the customer, ensuring every job is delivered to the highest standard.
  • Making safety a priority.
  • Working within a team.
  • Consult with customers before/during, and after projects.
  • Carrying out commissioning of plant and complete handover.
  • Complete appropriate documentation throughout each project.
  • Good Self-management.

Qualifications: What we are looking for in you:

  • Electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Be personable, as there is regular customer contact.
  • Health & Safety awareness.
  • Computer literate as reports will be needed to be completed after every installation.
  • Confident working at height.
  • Willing to work away for long periods.
  • Able to work in a close team environment.
  • Able to self-manage.
