Our housing teams provide rapid response and planned maintenance services for local authorities and registered providers and deliver in excess of 5,000 repairs every day to a growing portfolio of around 1,000,000 homes across the UK. We also provide a range of services to cover all areas of the housing sector, including regeneration, contact centre solutions, housing management, home improvement, facilities management, estate services, grounds maintenance, student accommodation and new build.
About the Role:
Due to contract expansion, we are seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team. As a Multi Skilled Operative your main duties will include repairs and refurbishment activities to our occupied accommodation properties delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards. The main role will be to complete general repairs on homes including changing doors, taps, baths and fixing radiators. The successful candidate will be completing varied property maintenance tasks and carrying out property inspections.
Role Criteria:
- Experience and knowledge in 3 trades
- NVQ level 2 or above in a core trade would be desirable
- Full UK driving license
- Excellent communication
- Team player and ability to work alone
- Flexible and willing to travel
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
As part of the recruitment process for this role, we will carry out a DBS & BPSS check, as well as Security Clearance. For these checks to be completed, we will require from you the relevant identification, including Proof of Address, References, a valid passport and proof that you have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
