We have an exciting opportunity for a Vocational Tutor in Equine to join our team based at our Merrist Wood College in Worplesdon, Guildford. Working in collaboration with the Equine provision, you will be responsible for the preparation, delivery and assessment of project-based learning, practical and some theoretical elements within the curriculum, ensuring that a high standard is maintained throughout, and that student activity is facilitated safely and effectively. You will also support curriculum preparations and assist with the schooling of horses at the equestrian centre.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for an Equestrian Coach/Groom/developing teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. This role is a permanent, part-time (0.40 FTE) position based at Merrist Wood College.
What do you need to be a successful Vocational Trainer in Equine at Activate Learning?
Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional Level 3 qualification within the subject area, as well as relevant industry experience and a BHS Stage 2 Teach (or equivalent). You will also have experience in riding a variety of horses. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful vocational lessons to a diverse range of learners and you will also role model the attributes that we develop within our learners. We would consider applications from unqualified teachers, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to develop skills within teaching, who have a desire to become qualified. Further training towards BHS examinations and Assistant Instructor Qualified or BHS Stage 3 teaching is required for this role.
