We are currently looking to recruit a Major Component Technician on a Permanent basis to join the team working across the UK.

How can you make a difference?

As a Major Component Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out and supporting all exchanges conducted within your area. By personally carrying out the exchange, this role will ensure a safe and effective execution of the exchanges as well as keeping to the standardised exchange times.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities for This Role Include

• Carrying out and supporting main component exchanges
  • Delivering on‑site training for technicians for main component exchanges
  • Main component exchange tools handling
• Creating and practically testing tooling sets
  • Supervising and executing lifting operations
  • Handling any unforeseen issues during main component exchanges
  • Developing, improving and testing exchange procedures
  • Development, improvement and testing of special tools
  • Ensuring safety and quality on site during main component exchanges
  • Ensuring completeness of main component exchange reporting
  • Creation of risk assessments and method statements for main component exchanges
  • Gearbox and main bearing endoscopies

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working on wind turbines and have practical on‑site main component exchange experience. You will also have on‑site handling and mobile crane and hydraulic and electric torque tool handling experience.

Preferred qualifications: Mechanical or Electrical discipline qualification, completed Wind Turbine Technician course, and Slinger Banksman training. A can‑do attitude, team player, strong planning & organisational skills, customer focus, IT literate with experience of Office 365 and SAP.

The ability to work at heights is a necessity for this role and you will be travelling on a regular basis, including nights away from home.
