Hello, we’re Severn Trent Services, a commercial arm of the Severn Trent Group. We provide water and waste services to companies nationwide, including the MoD and The Coal Authority. Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also committed to making a difference because we care.

We’re currently recruiting for a Field Technician to support the Suffolk area. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality. We believe diverse minds, experiences, and backgrounds help us learn and better serve our customers and communities. If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining water and wastewater systems across multiple sites, identifying faults, and ensuring effective solutions. You’ll play a key role in customer service, helping to build strong relationships and maintain satisfaction.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking day-to-day operations of water and wastewater assets to defined internal quality standards.
  • Fault-finding, installing, repairing, inspecting, replacing, and maintaining fixed plant and equipment as requested to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Providing timely and accurate feedback on work to maintain up-to-date information and status of tasks.
  • Maintaining professional expertise to repair and maintain a wide range of plant and equipment.
  • Responding to asset failures across sites, diagnosing faults, and determining rectification requirements to restore service.
  • Identifying necessary spares for effective repair and maintenance based on purchasing guidelines.
  • Exercising judgment on equipment spend to ensure safe and cost-effective repairs, and providing feedback on asset conditions for ongoing maintenance.

This role requires you to start from home and work across your allocated region, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We value character, positivity, and a caring attitude, alongside the right skills and experience. No experience is required as full training will be provided. The only requirements are a full UK driving licence and a willingness to learn.

We celebrate diversity and inclusion through our various working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability, and Ethnicity – helping us to better serve our communities.

Some of our benefits include:
  • Salary between £25,876 - £30,000
  • Company van (for business use only) and fuel card
  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 15% based on company performance
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (with options to buy or sell days)
  • Enhanced pension scheme (we double your contribution up to 15%)
  • Sharesave scheme at a discounted rate
  • Training and development through our ‘Academy’
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
