Bay Cove Human Services’ mission is to partner with people to overcome challenges and realise personal potential. Bay Cove pursues this mission by providing individualised and compassionate services to people facing the challenges associated with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness at more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Requirements for the position:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a culturally diverse population of clients, other care providers, family, and community members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to be flexible, open and responsive to direction.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs.
  • An acceptable CORI (criminal record assessment).
  • Is at least 18 years old and has a minimum of High School diploma or GED.

Essential Functions Of Position:

  • Assists with developmental play groups as assigned.
  • Meets regularly with lead teacher to plan curriculum and activities.
  • Prepares materials for group, and assists with set up before group co-lead groups.
  • Assists with cleanup following group.
  • Maintains arts/crafts supplies for groups.
  • Advises supervisor when supply of any item is low.
  • Prepares bleach/water solutions daily and places in kitchen, bathrooms and playrooms.
  • Returns playroom toys to proper playroom daily after cleaning and disinfecting them.
  • Sorts, tidies, and inspects for safety all toys kept in toy closets on a weekly basis.
  • Tidies hallways and parent group rooms every morning.
  • Reports need for repairs and/or major maintenance to Administrative Assistant.
  • Maintains adequate supply of changing paper, etc. in bathroom.
  • Maintains Emergency binder in playroom, removing child specific forms when a child leaves group.
  • Maintains first aid kits and replenishes supplies as needed.
  • Attends staff meetings and supervision regularly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
