You will be responsible for assembling electrical wiring harnesses and complex electrical assemblies within a production environment, meticulously following engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £30k, depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Wiring assembly: Precisely wiring electrical components according to detailed blueprints and specifications, including stripping, cutting, and crimping wires to connect various connectors and terminals.
- Soldering: Performing high-quality soldering operations on delicate components within wiring assemblies.
- Quality control: Inspecting completed wiring harnesses for accuracy, proper connections, and adherence to quality standards, identifying and correcting any defects.
- Technical documentation: Interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving electrical issues within wiring assemblies, such as faulty connections, incorrect wire routing, or component malfunction.
- Material handling: Managing and organizing electrical components, wire stock, and tooling to ensure efficient production flow.
- Production reporting: Maintaining accurate documentation of work completed, including time spent and any quality concerns.

The skills you need:
- Previous experience as a wiring technician, electrical assembler, or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of specific industry standards and regulations related to electrical wiring (IPC & J-Std).
- Interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly procedures.
- Performing high-quality soldering operations on delicate components within wiring assemblies.
- Precisely wiring electrical components according to detailed blueprints and specifications, including stripping, cutting, and crimping wires to connect various connectors and terminals.
- Excellent manual dexterity to handle small wires, connectors, and tools with precision.
- Experience with fibre optics.
