We are hiring Meter Readers in your postcode now; no experience is required. Are you looking for full-time work, close to home? Do you enjoy working outdoors in an active role? Would you like to have flexible work hours and control over your schedule? If yes, this could be the role for you.
As a Meter Reader, your responsibilities will include collecting data from gas, electricity, and water meters for both commercial and residential properties. You will update meter readings accurately using a handheld device, and provide excellent customer service.
What we offer:
- £12.61 - £13.00 per hour (weekly payment)
- 40-45 hours per week with flexible start and end times, Monday to Friday, occasionally Saturday, between 8am - 8pm
- Average annual earnings of £27,000 to £30,000
- Bonus scheme with earnings up to £1,000 monthly
- Overtime rates (£17 - £20) at manager’s discretion

Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence (minimum 1 year, max 3 points, no DR offences)
- Physically fit, able to bend, lift, kneel, climb stairs, crouch, and walk 6-7 miles daily
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
- Clean credit report (no recent county court judgments, IVA, or debt relief orders)
- Previous customer service experience preferred but not essential
Responsibilities:
- Retrieving data from water, gas, and electric meters at various sites; full training provided
- Visual inspections of metering equipment
- Conducting charge point surveys
- Working independently with motivation
- Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Adhering to health and safety guidelines
Training:
One-week training combining classroom and field experience with an experienced meter reader.
