Since then, we have been working with EDF (French Electricity Producer). We are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

You enjoy analising concrete problems, finding solutions and then setting them up.

Getting involved in significant industrial and engineering projects involving very demanding precautions as regards industrial safety captivates you.

THE ROLE

You will work within the Project’s Equipment Contracts Team which support the delivery nuclear power plant Emergency and Ultimate Diesel Generators (EDG/UDG) to the client, from external suppliers.

You will be in charge of the following activities:

  • Supporting the development and initiation of complex, high-value, turn-key contract packages.
  • Applying experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering design, analysis/modelling and physical testing to ensure new equipment is suitably qualified to perform all necessary functions in accordance with nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Consolidating and communicating detailed technical requirements for component and system qualification, ensuring alignment with nuclear safety standards and functions.
  • Overseeing suppliers and system stakeholders to ensure appropriate qualification standards are applied and achieved for the supply of new equipment for the project.
  • Supporting development of Invitation-To-Tender (ITT) technical documents and Tender evaluation activities, with a primary focus on ensuring qualification standards and supplier outputs are well understood and aligned.
  • Organising and managing supplier interactions to clarify technical details, including detailed records keeping.
  • Managing technical configuration details associated with equipment qualification, including updates to technical specifications, and associated technical delivery documents.
  • Performing technical investigations and impact analyses for design options/changes, working with stakeholders to manage and document the process, inputs and outcomes.
  • Supporting and managing contract kick-off activities including creation of technical briefing packs and workshops, coordinating inputs from technical specialists.
  • Supporting and managing contract execution activities, including surveillance and approval of contractor deliverables and design activities, with a primary focus on equipment qualification. This may include performing or commissioning technical analyses and calculations, and liaising with technical specialists, to rigorously evaluate supplier outputs.
  • Managing resolution activities for multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries, including input to/ownership of resolving technical Open Points (OP), interface queries and Design Changes (UKDC).
  • Authoring technical documents such as specifications, test plans and guidance documents to support the achievement of technical qualifications.
  • Awareness of contract commercial structures and working practices, including supplier management.
  • Overseeing and evaluating testing.

During the first months, you can count on the KURY Team to assist you all along your projects.

This experience will give you the opportunity to move on to other projects in the medium term: you will tackle varied but complementary projects, studies and technical topics. Your understanding of the technical and environmental challenges will allow you to take on complex and critical transversal studies.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in the design, development, analysis, testing and approval/acceptance of safety classified equipment.
  • Experience with equipment supply contracts and contract forms such as NEC/FIDIC.
  • Experience in supplier management/oversight.
  • Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design.
  • Understanding of nuclear equipment regulations.
  • IT literate.
  • Familiarity with the UK nuclear regulatory environment and associated safety case discipline.
  • Ability to produce technical specifications.
  • French-speaking would be an advantage.
