We are currently seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated team at Medivet Gatley. The whole clinic has been recently refurbished, providing a clean, warm and welcoming feel, with an abundance of natural light which is a rarity in the vet world! The clinic is a well-established, community-focused veterinary practice dedicated to providing top-quality care to our beloved animal patients.

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play an essential role in providing excellent nursing care to our patients, supporting our veterinary surgeons during procedures, and ensuring a positive experience for our clients. This role is full time, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00 - 4.30 (30 mins for lunch) and 1 weekend in 6 at Ashton.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
