Are you an experienced Small Animal Veterinarian with a passion for surgery?

An exciting role awaits at a well-equipped, independent Veterinary Hospital nestled in the picturesque Essex countryside. This permanent, full-time position offers a unique blend of professional growth and work-life balance, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Imagine working just 30 minutes from Stansted Airport, with convenient transport links to London only 20 minutes away. This location provides the perfect balance of rural tranquillity and urban accessibility. The practice boasts a hospital and two branches, ensuring a diverse and dynamic work experience.

The role is designed to offer a balanced schedule, with four working days per week. The hours are thoughtfully structured: two days from 8.30am to 8pm, and two days from 8.30am to 5.30pm. The rota also includes 1 in 8 Saturday mornings and 1 in 8 weekends, handling emergencies from 8am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Emergencies outside these hours are managed by Vets Now. Bank holidays are shared on a rota basis, with up to two per year, following the same pattern as Sundays.

The ideal candidate will hold a surgical certificate and be comfortable performing non-routine surgeries, including TPLOs, lateral sutures, and patella stabilisations. The practice is on the cusp of offering laparoscopic surgery, presenting an exciting opportunity for professional development. The current surgical certificate holder team member has built a high surgical caseload for the new recruit to take on and they enjoy a mix of one full day and three half days per week dedicated theatre time, with the remaining time spent on consultations and admin time. This structure allows for further development of a surgical caseload, particularly in orthopaedics and soft tissue.

The role offers a competitive salary range of £80-85k, depending on experience. Benefits include a generous CPD allowance, coverage of RCVS and VDS fees. Additionally, staff members enjoy a generous discount. Visa Sponsorship available for overseas candidates also.

This is a rare chance to join a thriving practice and make a significant impact while enjoying a balanced and fulfilling career.
