Unite Students have an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic People Team as a Payroll Administrator for a 6 month fixed-term contract in Bristol. Reporting in to the Senior Payroll Advisor, the focus of this role is to provide excellent support and ensure the smooth running of payroll processes. The payroll team act as the first point of contact for our colleagues and external service providers for pay related queries. The team manage all salary related payments and deductions along with associated administrative activities within strict deadlines.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Ensure accurate payroll payments are processed on a monthly basis within set deadlines.
  • Run monthly payroll reports and reconciliations in order to ensure that third party suppliers are paid accurately and on time, liaising with external agencies when required.
  • Maintain accurate reports of payroll data using the payroll system (PeopleXD).
  • Prepare and maintain control data and reconciliations.
  • Support our colleagues with pay related queries.
  • Work closely with Finance and People team colleagues to generate and implement ideas for continuous improvement to shared processes.
  • Create and maintain new process documentation.
  • Support team with system testing for legislative, company and project changes.
  • Follow the Data Protection Policy and associated policies, keeping information confidential and secure, in order to ensure employee and customer data is protected and handled appropriately in line with legislative requirements.

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Payroll experience highly desirable.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to organise workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated and possessing the ability to work on own initiative as well as within a team.
  • An interest in employee benefits and/or people services administration.
