We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a board-certified (ECVDI or ACVR) or residency-trained radiologist to join our dedicated team at Pride Veterinary Referrals on a part-time basis, with a negotiable working pattern for the right candidate. Pride Veterinary Referrals is the central small animal hospital for the Scarsdale Veterinary Group, a multi-species practice employing over 300 staff across 10 sites in the Midlands.

We offer specialist-led services in internal medicine, oncology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, ophthalmology, cardiology, and on-site hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. The hospital provides 24/7 veterinary care, supported by a dedicated night team. We work closely with the University of Nottingham, supporting teaching and research, and inspiring future veterinary professionals.

The Diagnostic Imaging Team includes two specialist radiologists, one resident, one imaging intern, three radiographers, and two imaging nurses. We handle a varied caseload across all imaging modalities, including radiography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI. Our facilities feature digital radiography, C-Arm fluoroscopy, two GE ultrasound machines, a 16-slice GE CT, a 1.5T HDE MRI, and a new portable X-Ray unit. The team collaborates closely with all departments, fostering a stimulating and friendly environment for discussion and learning.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Board-certified radiologist with ECVDI or ACVR Diploma, or residency-trained candidates encouraged to apply.
  • Diagnostic and reporting experience in English across all modalities.

Work Pattern and Location:

Our full-time team enjoys a 34-hour week over 4 days, with extra paid hours for on-call support. We anticipate a flexible 3-day week, including Fridays, with shifts of 8.5 hours plus additional paid hours in lieu of on-call. Full-time hours are negotiable. Located at the edge of Derby city centre, with excellent transport links and proximity to the Peak District for outdoor activities and scenic exploration.
