Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Engineer to join our growing, dynamic PCBA Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing production processes, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards, whilst introducing New Product (NPI), Projects and Product via adequate engineering processes.
As the Production Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives, whilst demonstrating proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Support introduction of new products (NPI) into the business, utilising knowledge, and experience in PCBA manufacturing.
- Interpret a wide variety of customer provided data, determine build process, and provide supporting documentation for manufacturing.
- Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
- Diagnose problems in production, offer technical solutions and provide recommendations and training.
- Collate data for departmental and business KPIs.
- Liaising with other internal departments and engineers to develop plans that improve production, reduce costs, increase efficiencies.
The ideal person will demonstrate the following:
- Ideally 2-5 years experience working in a production engineering role or similar position within a relevant manufacturing environment.
- A formal Engineering Qualification to Degree, Apprenticeship or HNC/HND level within a relevant discipline, electronics is preferred.
- Strong understanding of schematics and the ability to fabricate components effectively.
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is required.
- The ability to provide customer feedback from any witnessed build issues, with a view to improving quality and efficiencies.
- Proficient Computer Literacy skills with the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, whilst collaborating as a team and being self-motivated to drive projects forward.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
