We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shopfitting Joiner / Carpenter Working Foreman to oversee and lead carpentry works on-site while managing a team of tradespeople. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on carpentry expertise with leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Management:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed efficiently.
- Plan and schedule tasks for the carpentry team and other trades.
- Monitor and enforce health and safety regulations on-site.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out hands-on carpentry tasks, including but not limited to framing, joinery, fitting, and finishing.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to the carpentry team.
- Inspect completed carpentry work to ensure it meets project requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor the on-site carpentry team.
- Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability.
- Conduct regular site briefings and tool-box talks.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and other trades to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Report on progress, challenges, and solutions to senior management.
- Order and manage materials, ensuring adequate stock levels on-site.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Carpentry Foreman or similar role in construction.
- Strong carpentry skills with the ability to complete high-quality work.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, drawings, and regulations.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
