High Voltage System Validation engineer in the UK. The validation engineer needs to be in the UK with a Class 3 license and be an expert on the HV system. The associate should have worked before on PHEV or BEV cars and have a very good understanding of the HV system and issue resolution.

Your responsibilities:

  • High Voltage Systems Knowledge: Understanding of HV system design for PHEV & BEV, operation, and safety protocols (typically 400V+).
  • Electrical Engineering Principles: Proficiency in electrical and electronics engineering principles, especially related to HV systems.
  • Battery and Power Electronics: Knowledge of battery systems, power electronics, and HV components (eAC, Heater, Inverter, DCDC, Charger AC & DC).
  • System Testing and Validation: Ability to develop and implement test plans for HV components and systems, including validation of performance, reliability, and issue replication.
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA): Experience with FMEA for identifying potential failures and preventive actions.
  • Data Analysis and Statistical Techniques: Skills in analysing data to identify trends and root causes of issues.
  • Software Tools: Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, CANalyzer, INCA, CANoe, and quality management software.
  • Thermal and Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding of thermal management systems for HV components.
  • Safety Standards and Compliance: Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61851, SAE J1772) and safety regulations for HV systems.
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Strong skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting HV systems and components.
