Mayoral Driver & Civic Support Officer £14.84 per hour Lisburn Council Headquarters
Job Purpose
Provide a confidential, professional chauffeur service to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and civic guests. Support civic events and advise on protocol when needed.
Key Duties
- Drive the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and civic guests to official functions.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, keep vehicles clean and roadworthy, and complete all paperwork.
- Attend events, greet guests, arrange catering, and assist at receptions.
- Safeguard Chains of Office and Councils Mace; handle charity funds safely.
- Cover the Mayors Office when required and act as keyholder.
- Train and supervise casual drivers.
- Attend training and follow Council policies at all times.
Requirements
- 5 GCSEs (A-C) plus 2 years chauffeur or similar experience, or 4 years driving experience without qualifications.
- Experience supporting civic dignitaries or working in a political environment.
- Strong knowledge of civic protocols.
- Excellent communication, customer care, and discretion.
- Flexibility for evening/weekend work and occasional travel outside NI.
