We have an excellent opportunity for a Document Controller based with our Client on the AWE Burghfield Site in Reading, Berkshire. This is a hybrid role, with more WFH than on site needed, although this may change and will be by local agreement with the line manager.

Below is the wish list from the line manager:

  • Meridian experience is essential as the client has rejected candidates previously for a lack of it.
  • Experience working independently as a Lead / Senior Doc Controller to ensure they are qualified and experienced enough to own the process themselves without significant support from the engineering team.
  • Responsible for managing tracking of all deliverables using a tracker in Microsoft Excel, which involves updating dates and information in columns as the documents move through the process steps.
  • Manage distribution of deliverables for review and for information to our stakeholders, which involves updating an Excel matrix and regularly chasing the reviewers to ensure timely review.
  • Experience using Meridian and SharePoint is essential, as you will be required to move documents and DCFs from Meridian to SharePoint and vice versa.
  • The review matrix requires update monthly, based on the updated programme for acceptance and deliverables plan from the delivery partner, so ability to use Excel confidently is key.
  • Understanding of steps in the deliverables review would be preferred (S2, S3, S3R etc) but not essential.
  • Provide metrics on time taken for reviews, number of review cycles for documents etc., and report on this in a weekly team meeting.
  • Propose improvements to current practices.
  • Regularly ensure alignment of our tracking documentation with the trackers held by our delivery partner.

This role will be inside IR35. Expenses can be paid for those living more than 50 miles from Site, according to the Company expense policy. Current SC security clearance is preferred. If not already held, the ability to obtain SC is essential. Candidates are to hold British Citizenship / British Passport and not to have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.
