WRG is supporting an independent Health & Safety consultancy who are looking to appoint an ambitious CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer to their team in Chester. The business is investing heavily into their team and would like to hire a competent CDM/ PD professional to work on a range of property & construction projects across the North West. They have recently won a large project within the aviation sector where the successful consultant will be based from, up to 3 days a week to ensure that the project runs smoothly throughout its course.

The role would suit a proactive CDM/ PD professional from a consultancy or contractor background who feels that their progress is currently stalled. Our client has a history of excellent career progression and will offer support and training for you to achieve success.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer a range of H&S/ CDM services to clients.
  • Ensure CDM compliance on construction projects.
  • Oversee the design risk register and attend design risk reviews, along with offering input in relation to safety in design.
  • Ensure that pre-construction information is readily available for each project and is kept up to date.
  • Conduct CDM workshops for clients.
  • Preparation of health and safety files and construction phase plans where required.
  • Carry out site inspections and ensure that RAMS are in place.
  • Further build and develop existing client relationships and develop new ones.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders (architects, contractors, developers, designers, client) and keep them informed of changes regarding safety.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not required).
  • Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body.
  • Excellent understanding of 2015 CDM Regulations.
  • Good understanding of BSA and the changes affecting the industry (desirable).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
