An exciting opportunity has opened up at a fast-growing fintech undergoing a major platform transformation who are looking for a Principle Performance Engineer to establish and scale a modern performance testing function.

You will have the autonomy to define strategy, build tooling, and create performance environments in a multi-cloud/on-prem architecture. This is a high-impact, highly visible role with influence across engineering, DevOps, and product teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading performance testing strategy and implementation across the stack
  • Designing and managing dedicated performance test environments
  • Building scalable, production-replica load scenarios
  • Driving a shift-left performance culture across engineering
  • Identifying bottlenecks, tuning infrastructure, and enabling high availability
  • Advising senior stakeholders on system health and performance risks

You’ll need to bring:

  • 8+ years of performance testing experience in enterprise environments
  • 5+ years in a lead or principal role within quality engineering
  • Strong hands-on expertise with platforms: JMeter, BlazeMeter and Cloudflare, etc.
  • Proven experience testing APIs, web applications, and databases: i.e PostgreSQL, Oracle and MSSQL.
  • Experience designing performance test environments and load generation tools
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and performance SLAs
