The Growth Director Role
Merj is seeking a marketing-oriented Growth Director to join our leadership team and drive the next stage of our strategic and commercial growth. This is a senior hands-on role that blends marketing, partnerships, and revenue strategy, with a progression path to Chief Revenue Officer. It suits a commercially minded marketer or partnerships lead ready to step into revenue ownership. Hands-on, strategic, and growth-focused, ideal for someone who wants to build, influence, help to supercharge our growth - and share in the success. You’ll lead the development and exploitation of key partnerships, build Merj’s visibility and influence through research-led campaigns, and play a critical role in expanding our footprint across existing clients. You’ll have ownership of growth KPIs and will be measured on impact. As you grow in the role, you will take on full commercial ownership.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnerships: Strengthen relationships with existing partners (platforms, tech providers), and work with them to sell Merj services. Design and deliver joint content, campaigns, and conference activity to surface shared value. Suggest, explore and develop new partner opportunities where strategically aligned.
- Research-Led Marketing Campaigns: Collaborate with internal and partner subject matter experts to run quarterly insight-driven campaigns, focusing on generating visibility, pipeline interest, and positioning Merj as essential and differentiated.
- Content Activation: Turn research and insight into multi-format content: Social posts, articles, whitepapers, capability decks, conference sessions, client roadshows and more.
- Content Plan & Channel Ownership: Own the content plan and calendar, and manage the website, social media and email.
- Events & Conferences: Identify and shape event speaking opportunities and coordinate Merj-led or partner-hosted talks, workshops, and private roundtables.
- Inbound Opportunity Management: Join discovery calls and early-stage conversations with potential clients, shaping and coordinating our follow-up approach to build trust and alignment. Support conversion by owning the messaging, rhythm, and structure of early-stage interactions.
- Brand and Marketing: Own and evolve Merj’s external brand voice and positioning. Maintain and improve our website and collateral, one-pagers, case studies, and partner and client-facing decks. Select and manage modern light-touch tools (CRM, content analytics, etc.) to support visibility and pipeline tracking.
- CRM & Client Relationship Expansion: Lead the development and optimisation of CRM strategies and tools for customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value through data-driven lifecycle marketing. Actively seek and develop land-and-expand opportunities to build existing accounts (cross-brand, cross-market, or multi-stakeholder growth). Collaborate with consultants to create and deploy client-specific content (e.g. viewpoint series, stakeholder briefings, internal roadshows).
- External Knowledge Share: Help Merj consultants package their innovations and insights into reusable, client-facing assets and drive the development of signature points-of-view, tools, or frameworks that distinguish Merj publicly.
- Commercial Strategy: Work with the MD and Ops Director to evolve service offers and pricing.
