Do you have experience working with children and families? If so, working as a Keyworker for East Sussex County Council might be the right job for you! As a Keyworker you will deliver specialist support to families who have been assessed as having multiple and complex needs who, without support, are at risk of either needing social care intervention or of entering the care system. You will assess need and develop a plan with the family that has clear and measurable outcomes.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have the ability to engage and motivate families to change through offering intensive support and evidence-based interventions
  • Are able to identify safeguarding concerns, seeking management guidance when appropriate
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both orally and in writing
  • Are able to initiate challenging conversations with family members to challenge negative and entrenched behaviour and to give constructive feedback and praise as appropriate

We will be shortlisting for interview based upon people who can show:

  • Experience of working within Safeguarding processes.
  • An understanding of the issues impacting vulnerable children / families.
  • Evidence of undertaking assessments and developing plans for families / children.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable Children and / or families.
