We are working with a top-tier design and planning consultancy that is at the forefront of some of the UK’s most ambitious large-scale developments - from brand-new communities to major urban expansions. Their work is strategic, creative, and deeply rooted in the landscape. They are now looking for a Senior Masterplanner or Senior Landscape Architect to join their growing team - someone with the vision, confidence, and spatial design expertise to help shape complex greenfield sites from the very beginning.
This isn’t a typical urban design role. We are not looking for traditional urban designers. What we really need is someone who can think at scale — someone who understands land, landscape, movement and policy, and can bring it all together into intelligent, compelling spatial frameworks. In our experience, those with a background in landscape planning or large-scale landscape architecture bring the right combination of vision and rigour to the table.
The kind of work you’ll be doing:
- Leading and contributing to strategic greenfield masterplans and site frameworks
- Developing long-term visions for new towns, villages, and extensions
- Shaping movement networks, open spaces, and development parcels with clarity and purpose
- Collaborating closely with transport engineers, planners, ecologists, and economists
- Writing and illustrating robust, policy-aligned design reports
- Presenting to clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified Landscape Architect or Masterplanner with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong experience working on large-scale or edge-of-settlement projects
- Excellent spatial awareness, design judgement, and strategic thinking
- Confident communicator, with strong drawing, writing and presentation skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team
Why join them?
- Work on nationally significant projects with real long-term impact
- Be part of a team that values clarity, good thinking and purposeful design
- Enjoy flexible working, a supportive studio culture, and the chance to grow with us
- Based in Oxfordshire with hybrid options available
