The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering key objectives across their insurance investment business function – e.g. operations, strategy and commercial development, acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership and contributing to the wider business agenda. This is a highly visible role that requires a proactive, commercially-minded professional with strong communication and relationship skills, combined with a proven track record of delivering results in complex and fast-paced environments.

Role and Responsibilities- Develop and execute revenue generation plans across a portfolio of insurance clients.
- Develop/maintain a deep understanding of client needs and requirements.
- Provide strategic investment advice to a portfolio of insurance clients including but not limited to asset allocation, portfolio structuring, investment risk optimisation and implementation.
- Operate as a senior team member ensuring excellent client service.
- Gain and maintain confidence of group-wide distribution teams, collaborating to source and close new business opportunities.
- Design and deliver high quality investment solutions supporting proposals, presentations, RFPs & RFIs.
- Be the insurance-investment expert in client pitches and business development activities, working alongside local distribution colleagues.
- Lead project teams, delegate work to analysts, provide guidance and peer review, and act as a coach/mentor to junior colleagues.
- Act as a credible representative with clients’ senior personnel and decision makers.
- Maintain and check technical accuracy, reasonableness of own work and others.
- Provide input to team development and strategy.
- Strong technical understanding of insurance investments.
- Firm grasp of the underlying economic, investment and regulatory issues that determine insurers’ investment and business decision making.
- In-depth knowledge of insurers’ assets and liabilities; ability to construct optimal and practically implementable asset strategies to meet clients’ objectives.
- Strong analytical and quantitative experience of modelling, risk analysis, stress and scenario analysis on insurance products/portfolios.
- Well informed on insurance industry themes.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
- Understanding of the company’s capabilities and key products spanning asset classes.
- Contribute to publications for insurers and participate in insurance client events and related marketing activities.
- Ideally qualified Actuary or CFA with extensive insurance-investment expertise.
- Experience of working at an insurer in the investment team or advising life and general insurers on their investment portfolios is advantageous.
