Your Impact
As a Principal Web Engineer at MHR, you’re not just writing code – you’re architecting the future of software solutions. You’ll drive excellence in user interface design and maintain a high-quality code base, collaborating with Web Developers, shaping innovative solutions, and coaching the team to tackle complex business challenges head-on.
Working hybrid with 3 days a week in our Ruddington Head Office, you will govern and contribute to the web codebase, driving technology, process and people change to ensure sustainable web delivery across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with delivery, platform, and architecture teams to align the functional roadmap with high quality of service.
- Govern and contribute to the evolution of the web codebase through hands-on development.
- Transform groundbreaking ideas into reality by producing proofs of concepts to de-risk delivery and elucidate intricate concepts.
- Elevate coding standards by automating processes and ensuring extensive test coverage for sustainable delivery.
- Provide guidance during planning, design reviews, and incident management to empower web engineers.
- Cultivate consensus among peers on cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
- Play a vital role in recruitment campaigns, hiring skilled engineers, and shaping the interview process to enhance efficiency.
- Develop, coach, and mentor juniors, supporting their growth and establishing personal development plans.
What You’ll Bring To The Role And MHR
- Experience building modern enterprise Angular applications.
- Solid understanding of HTML/HTML5, JavaScript/Typescript, CSS/SASS.
- Knowledge of accessibility, responsive and adaptive design, and working with UX/UI design documents.
- Knowledge of web security and RESTful web services.
- Experience with modern unit testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of RESTful architecture and API design principles.
- Deep knowledge of software engineering concepts such as design patterns, SOLID principles, polymorphism, and threading.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services for cloud-based development.
- Experience advising on UX components within a design system using technologies such as Storybook.
