Cranleigh STEM has exclusively partnered with a rapidly expanding biotechnology company based in Winchester to recruit a Senior Scientist for a permanent position. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the development of new products, refine existing offerings, and help establish a leading presence in the NGS-based oncology sector.
Senior Scientist responsibilities
- Oversee project management for specific NGS initiatives, ensuring the timely execution of deliverables.
- Coordinate with multiple internal departments to facilitate the commercial implementation of research projects.
- Analyse DNA sequencing data using bioinformatics pipelines.
- Present NGS data analysis findings through detailed technical reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with the NGS team to plan upcoming experiments, aligning lab work with broader business objectives.
- Responsible for communicating technical concepts to a variety of audiences, from scientific experts to commercial teams and external stakeholders
- Management of 3 staff.
Senior Scientist requirements
- PhD or equivalent in genomics, molecular biology (or a related field).
- Successful track record of contributing to successful NGS product launches; proven experience in NGS product development/research.
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical oncology trends and advancements, especially germline and somatic variant analysis.
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of NGS technologies, including sequencing platforms, library preparation, and bioinformatics analysis.
- Possess strong management experience – setting goals, reviewing progress, and providing feedback, enabling them to meet their objectives and identify development opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a real ‘go-getter’ mentality. You will serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, presenting complex NGS concepts clearly and concisely.
