Job Description
RES Energy Services is the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, working across 24 countries and active in wind, solar, energy storage, biomass, hydro, green hydrogen, transmission, and distribution. An industry innovator for over 40 years, RES has delivered more than 24 GW of renewable energy projects across the globe and plans to bring more than 22 GW of new capacity online in the next five years. As a service provider, RES has the skills and experience in asset management, operations and maintenance (O&M), and spare parts – supporting 41GW of renewable assets across 1,300 sites.
The Technician will be responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of PV solar equipment systems in the UK with the support of the Team Leader.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Undertake scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing.
- Carry out corrective maintenance; fault finding, troubleshooting and repair on all solar PV systems which will include mechanical and electrical diagnosis on Power Inverters.
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime ensuring the highest level of Solar Plant availability.
- Provide out of hours and weekend response.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Assist in providing solutions to the Technical Manager.
- Conduct training lessons to enhance other employee’s technical knowledge.
- Report all maintenance works carried out using computer based service reporting procedures.
Job Requirements
- Proven electrical experience.
- Service Engineer with Solar PV background.
- Troubleshooting and Fault Finding experience.
- Knowledge of Power Inverters.
- Computer skills; word processing, spreadsheets, email, management and reporting systems, including the use of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools
- Willing to work overtime on weekends, bank holidays and on short notice.
- Valid UK driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
