The role of a Lead Commissioning Engineer includes:

  • Help to integrate the design, construction and commissioning of plant and equipment within the Water sector by bringing other people's mechanical, electrical and/or process skills to practical benefit.
  • Provide a first point of contact for Operational Managers and Contracts Managers for all MEP delivery aspects on the schemes within your region.
  • Ensure that MEP delivery and commissioning elements of projects are undertaken in compliance with the requirements of the Bentley Integrated Management System (BIMS) and Operational Safety Standards (OSS).
  • Review health and safety data for the team and ensure that action is taken where improvement is required.
  • Plan and programme the MEP aspects of the projects we deliver; working with design and operational teams to support the design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of projects.
  • Assign responsibilities and deploy resources within the MEP delivery and commissioning team, taking account of health and safety implications including training and competence.
  • Be accountable for site-based MEP and commissioning resource planning for the schemes within your region.
  • Ensure regular forward planning / performance review meetings with key supply chain subcontractors.

What you'll need:

  • ECS and SMSTS (Training can be offered to an appropriate candidate).
  • HNC / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of MEP engineering principles and practices within a Civil engineering environment.
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
