We’re seeking an exceptional Head of Events to lead and grow the commercial revenue for two of London’s most culturally rich and creative venues. Hosting more than 500 events annually and welcoming over 300,000 visitors, these spaces support a diverse programme of music, arts, and education. Commercial activity plays a vital role in sustaining this mission.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and deliver the commercial strategy across two dynamic venues. You’ll generate revenue through private hires, brand partnerships, and new business development, bringing vision, energy and a strong network to drive profitability and long-term growth.
The Opportunity:
We’re looking for someone with a strategic mindset, outstanding sales credentials, and a proven ability to secure six and seven-figure deals. Experience in launching new commercial teams or scaling event sales functions is highly valued. If you’re excited by the intersection of culture and commerce and ready to lead a high-performing team, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy and Revenue Growth: Lead the commercial sales function, building innovative strategies that exceed annual targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, optimising the usage of event spaces across the calendar. Own and manage the commercial P&L, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Deliver multi-year proposals and maximise ancillary revenues.
- Business Development and Account Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with agencies, brands, and repeat clients. Develop a robust pipeline across key sectors including fashion, tech, media, and entertainment. Represent the business at industry events and host clients during live activations. Ensure an exceptional standard of client care and long-term account retention.
- Team Leadership: Lead and support a dynamic sales team, setting goals, tracking performance, and fostering professional growth. Introduce systems and processes to improve efficiency and profitability. Collaborate across departments to align commercial, operational, and creative objectives.
- Marketing and Brand Alignment: Work closely with the marketing team to develop B2B campaigns and promotional materials. Create case studies and pitch decks to showcase the venues’ capabilities and success stories. Elevate the profile of the commercial offering through networking, industry engagement, and targeted communications.
About You:
- Proven commercial leader with 2+ years in a similar senior role.
- Experience achieving annual gross profits of £1m or more.
- Track record in developing and delivering sales and marketing plans.
- Strong background in private hires, corporate sales, and brand partnerships.
- Existing network across brand agencies, production companies, and cultural sectors.
- People-first leader with experience managing teams and supporting professional development.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Financially astute, confident in budgeting and performance reporting.
- Comfortable working in creative environments with a social and cultural mission.
The Spaces:
Two unique event spaces featuring a mix of large-scale halls and flexible multi-use areas, suited to everything from conferences and ceremonies to live music and immersive brand experiences. Each is fully equipped with industry-standard lighting and sound, and supported by experienced in-house teams. Revenue from commercial events is reinvested into the wider artistic and educational programmes, including community-focused mentorships, free studio access and youth projects.
Additional Info:
- Contract: Full time (42.5 hours per week)
- Working model: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in the office)
- Start date: August 2025
