Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to work at the forefront of the UK’s energy transition? We are hiring a Senior Buyer to support the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects across the UK. This is a pivotal role within a growing commercial team, offering the chance to shape procurement strategy, drive value, and help deliver innovative low-carbon infrastructure projects that support the UK’s Net Zero goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of procurement activities across multiple infrastructure projects, from early-stage development through to construction and delivery.
- Prepare and issue tender documentation, manage RFQs, and lead negotiations with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Build and manage supplier relationships, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with contract terms.
- Work cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, legal and finance teams to ensure procurement aligns with project timelines and budgets.
- Track market trends and supply chain risks, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of procurement policies, processes, and systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a procurement or buying role within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with experience managing high-value contracts.
- Comfortable working across multiple projects in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
