On behalf of a leading macro platform, we are seeking a high-potential economist to focus on Developed Europe. The successful candidate will combine deep knowledge of the European economy with fluency in Python, and a passion for building models that sharpen forecasting and generate fresh insight. You’ll work closely with senior economists and strategists, but take real ownership of your coverage area. There is scope for an exceptional Associate-level economist to step up into a VP title.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce high-impact macroeconomic research and forecasts across Developed Europe
  • Design and refine Python-based models to support and challenge house views
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to assess cross-regional macro themes
  • Present ideas directly to institutional clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background in economics, econometrics, or a related quantitative field
  • Significant experience covering European macro (Eurozone, UK, or broader)
  • Experience working with asset management, either on the sell side, independent or buy side firm
  • Exceptional Python skills — ideally applied to economic modelling, forecasting, or time-series analysis
