You’ll be working in a highly respected and successful architecture firm in London. This role is for a senior-level professional who will drive the adoption and integration of AI tools and workflows across your practice, both for architectural design and business operations. It's a strategic, hands-on position focused on real-world implementation and upskilling your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Vision: Assess current workflows across teams (design, admin, management, etc.) to identify opportunities where AI can add real value. Develop and lead a clear AI adoption roadmap aligned with the practice's goals (efficiency, creativity, cost-savings, innovation). Stay on top of emerging tools (Midjourney, Revit plugins, ChatGPT, test-fit AI tools, etc.) and identify those most relevant to your studio.
- Training & Upskilling: Design and deliver custom training sessions for architects, technologists, and support staff tailored by skill level and team function. Create a culture of experimentation and innovation, guiding teams through safe and responsible AI use.
- Tool Selection & Implementation: Select and roll out AI tools for concept generation (e.g. image-generation tools), BIM & parametric design acceleration, documentation and QA support, internal knowledge management, and admin automation. Pilot new tools on live or test projects; refine based on results.
- Integration & Support: Work with in-house IT/tech team to integrate AI tools securely with existing systems (Revit, BIM360, Office Suite, etc.). Monitor outcomes, track KPIs (e.g., time saved, quality improvement), and report progress to leadership.
Ideal Background: Experience in architecture or a background in architecture would be ideal. Someone who has worked in or with architectural practices and understands the nuances of design workflows. Deep understanding of AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, Revit AI plugins, etc.) and how they apply to the built environment. Ability to lead change and communicate across teams, from directors to junior designers.
