We are seeking a highly skilled Ansible Automation Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise automation solutions. This role requires expertise in Ansible, automation workflows, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to drive operational efficiency and innovation. The ideal candidate will work closely with DevOps, IT Operations, and Security teams to implement scalable automation strategies. A key focus of this role will be helping automation teams and users of our Ansible Service migrate workloads from Ansible Tower to Ansible Automation Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist automation teams and users in migrating workloads from Ansible Tower to Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
  • Guide users on how to refactor and port existing Ansible 2.9 code to work on the latest versions of Ansible.
  • Design, develop, and optimize Ansible Playbooks, Roles, and Collections for enterprise automation.
  • Implement and manage Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including automation controller, execution environments, and automation hub.
  • Develop and enforce automation best practices, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Ansible into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Ansible-related performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and compliance concerns.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to internal teams on Ansible best practices.
  • Maintain and improve Ansible Tower/AAP infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Develop custom Ansible modules and plugins as required.
  • Stay up to date with emerging automation trends and technologies to drive continuous improvements.

Skills/Experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Ansible, Ansible Tower, and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Understanding of YAML, Jinja2 templating, and automation workflows.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, version control (Git), and CI/CD tools.
  • Expertise in Linux administration, networking concepts, and cloud automation.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, RBAC, and compliance frameworks in automation.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Ansible Content Collections and Automation Hub.
  • Knowledge of event-driven automation and integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Experience working in enterprise DevOps environments.
