Nexus Resource Solutions are working in partnership with market leading precision engineering company who have gone from strength to strength over the last few years. Due to continued success the require an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor for their busy workshop. The Role: As the Machine Shop Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations and manage the Machine Shop team. Your leadership will ensure that work scopes are delivered to the highest specifications, achieving commercial success and customer satisfaction. You will drive the team towards surpassing the clients Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets through class-leading processes and tools. Responsibilities: β Manage daily activities of the Machine Shop, Calibration and Maintenance teams, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. β Organise and support training and development initiatives to enhance team capabilities. β Provide technical support and oversee the maintenance programme and tooling management. β Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and manage documentation related to equipment certifications. β Actively participate in production meetings, preparing and aligning resources for upcoming projects. β Lead continuous improvement efforts and support the design teams in achieving project targets. β Manage company assets, including tooling, machines and building maintenance. Key Requirements: β Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. β Demonstrated problem-solving prowess and a strong track record in a leadership role. β Excellent organisational and communication skills. β Wide knowledge and experience of machining in both CNC and conventional. β Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. β Proficient with MS Office and MRP systems, and working knowledge of offline programming β Adherence to lean manufacturing principles. β Flexible, dependable, and committed to continuous improvement and excellence.
