Our client, a leading innovator in maritime design and technology is currently seeking a Principal MATLAB / Simulink Engineer (EV) to join their team. The successful candidate will lead model-based control and algorithm development for Energy Solution products like Battery Management, High Power DC charging and Propulsion systems.
The Principal MATLAB / Simulink Engineer (EV) will:
- Support in the application of Functional Safety, working with the company software quality / safety management processes and technical specialists.
- Carry out MIL and SIL testing within the software development environment.
- Plant model development to support SIL/MIL test activities.
- Perform analysis of system requirements and support decomposition and authoring of control / software requirements.
- Grow and lead the Control Engineering function within the department and maintaining the development processes and toolchain.
- Develop feature and algorithm for performance, user experience and safety functionality covering a range of energy products from standalone batteries through propulsion.
The Principal MATLAB / Simulink Engineer (EV) will have:
- (BSc /BEng) degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering).
- Experience with MATLAB Simulink, Stateflow, Simscape / data communication protocols including CAN, RS-485 & RS-232.
- 5+ years working as a Controls Engineer with experience gained in electrification / e-mobility related sectors.
- Experience with Controls development in e-mobility programs with direct experience in Propulsion, Battery Management or Vehicle Control and Energy Management.
- Knowledge of data communication protocols including CAN, RS-485 & RS-232.
- Ability to coordinate with other departments and flag issues.
- Good report writing skills β clear, concise, and well structured.
