We’re on the lookout for a proactive and detail-driven Design Manager with a strong background in healthcare projects. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your design expertise will directly impact the successful delivery of cutting-edge medical facilities across the UK.
As a Design Manager, you’ll lead and coordinate the design process from concept through to site delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, external consultants, and healthcare clients to ensure smooth communication, accurate planning, and innovative design solutions tailored to complex healthcare environments. This role will report directly into the Senior Design Manager and is office based with occasional travel to site locations.
What you’ll be doing…
- Managing both in-house and external design consultants across multiple live projects
- Coordinating design information to meet programme requirements and mitigate risk
- Chairing design team meetings and facilitating collaboration across all stakeholders
- Reviewing design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance and practicality
- Ensuring that project design aligns with budget constraints and technical standards
- Liaising with project teams to resolve site-based queries quickly and effectively
- Supporting tender analysis and pre-construction activities to ensure project readiness
We’re looking for….
- 2–3 years of experience in a construction design role
- Proven background in delivering healthcare or pharmaceutical sector projects
- A confident communicator who can engage effectively with consultants, clients, and contractors
- Solid understanding of UK building regulations and design principles
- Working knowledge of BIM processes and design coordination platforms
- Ability to juggle multiple projects with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A valid UK driving license is preferred
