Job Summary: SLB HR Learning & Competency is seeking a motivated and talented Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced HR professionals and understand HR data and workflows. You will leverage this understanding to analyze data, automate workflows, embed AI, and enable data-driven decision-making, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions in the HR domain. The role sits within the HQ HR team and reports to the Division Learning & Competency Manager. It offers the successful candidate an opportunity to contribute to the strategic learning initiatives of our organization while in parallel developing HR and data-centric skills based on daily activities and interactions with the broader leadership and global teams. HR Learning & Competency Internship lasts for 1 year duration starting from Summer 2025 and will be based in our London HQ office.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and develop data-driven solutions.
- Assist in collecting, processing, and analysing large datasets to extract actionable insights.
- Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to optimize HR operational processes.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and visualize results using advanced tools and techniques.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of data science solutions in real-world HR scenarios.
- Participate in regular team meetings and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science and machine learning.
Essential Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning concepts.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Familiarity with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A valid right to work status in the UK for the whole duration of the internship.
