We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Biospecimen Laboratory Supervisor to lead and coordinate laboratory operations across a range of diagnostic services. This is a pivotal role overseeing multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring high standards of regulatory compliance and scientific output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily laboratory operations across the following diagnostic services: Biospecimen, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Serology, Parasitology
- Provide supervision, mentorship, and daily management to a team of 3–5 laboratory staff.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant regulatory and quality assurance (QA) standards.
- Monitor workflow efficiency and ensure optimal use of laboratory resources and personnel.
- Maintain oversight of laboratory safety, compliance documentation, and SOP adherence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Travel to the Wyton site once every two weeks to provide supervision and support for lab operations there.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Bio-Medical Sciences, Bio-Veterinary Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial laboratory role is essential.
- Strong understanding of laboratory QA/QC protocols and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to another site bi-weekly (expenses covered).
Desirable:
- Previous experience working across multiple diagnostic service areas.
- Familiarity with veterinary diagnostics or biospecimen handling.
