The Corporate Loan Facility Agent will undertake day-to-day operational and relationship management responsibilities for a portfolio of syndicated loan transactions. This includes acting as the primary point of contact for lenders and borrowers, performing agent functions as outlined in finance documents, and supporting the Team Leader and other colleagues within the Agency Middle Office (AMO). The role requires close coordination with internal teams, external counterparties, and professional advisors, ensuring high standards of service, control, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for borrowers and lenders for an assigned portfolio of syndicated loan facilities.
  • Perform day-to-day agent responsibilities in line with finance documents, internal procedures, and control frameworks.
  • Facilitate communications among transaction parties, manage deal-related cash flows, and maintain accurate lender and facility records.
  • Administer lender commitments, accruals (interest and fees), and loan lifecycle events including rollovers, prepayments, and repayments.
  • Support with coordination of amendments, waivers, and consent processes in accordance with transaction documents.
  • Maintain and safeguard security documentation and registers where required.
  • Assist in the monitoring and escalation of borrower defaults and enforcement processes when necessary.
  • Coordinate with external legal, technical, and insurance advisors as required.
  • Support new lender onboarding and ongoing KYC and CDD review processes.
  • Contribute to static data management and system integrity for lender and facility records.
  • Provide cover for colleagues and assist during busy periods to ensure continuity of service.
  • Review draft agency documentation from an operational agent’s perspective, providing feedback where appropriate.
  • Participate in internal initiatives, system testing, and projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and risk control.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Assist the Team Leader in delivering team objectives and meeting service level agreements.
  • Attend and actively contribute to team and departmental meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Solid understanding of banking operations, particularly loan administration, payments, and static data management.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated loan market practices and agency functions.
  • Familiarity with finance documents including Facility Agreements, Intercreditor Agreements, Security Trust Deeds, and Account Bank Agreements.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory considerations including KYC and CDD for lenders.
  • Basic knowledge of primary loan syndication and secondary loan trading processes.
  • Awareness of accounting concepts relevant to loan servicing, such as interest, fees, and tax gross-up provisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for managing internal and external relationships.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a loan agency, loan administration, or operations role within banking or financial services.
  • Exposure to system and process improvement projects.
