Impairment Modelling | Consumer Lending

Location: Cardiff (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Share Scheme + Excellent Benefits

We’re searching for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join a growing Financial & Credit Risk team within an ambitious and well-supported consumer lending business. This is a hands-on role focused on IFRS 9 impairment modelling and expected credit loss (ECL) forecasting across multiple product lines, including unsecured personal loans, motor finance, and mortgages. You’ll be part of a collaborative team with real influence on financial reporting, risk strategy, and business performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and maintaining IFRS 9 impairment models and ECL forecasts
  • Running stress testing and scenario analysis across product portfolios
  • Analysing impairment drivers, trends, and model performance
  • Ensuring strong documentation and governance of all modelling processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience in impairment, provisioning, or credit risk modelling
  • Good understanding of IFRS 9 and expected credit loss modelling
  • Experience in retail lending (ideally unsecured loans or motor finance)
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
